Dr. Wade Rowatt trained with Dr. Wayne Oates in Psychology of Religion, Pastoral Care and Pastoral Counseling. Wade has taught Pastoral Care and Counseling for 33 years.  He currently teaches part time with the University of Louisville, Department of Psychiatry and the Baptist Seminary of Kentucky.  In addition to counseling at the Center, he supervises Pastoral Counselors in Training and conducts a Parish and Community Program in Clinical Pastoral Education.  Each year he teaches adjunctively for McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

Dr. Rowatt earned his B.S. in Mathematics, Computing and Sociology from Southern Illinois University.  His M.Div, Th.M. and Ph.D. are from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Dr. Rowatt has also done post-doctoral study at the University of Louisville, Department of Psychiatry, Claremont School of Theology (California) and The Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kansas.  He is author or co-author of ten books.  Currently Dr. Rowatt offers individual, couple and family counseling.  He also leads an adolescent therapy group, a couples’ therapy group and a ministers’ support group. He is a frequent speaker and conference leader at hospitals, universities, mental health centers and churches.
