Dr. Ehrman received his B.A. in German Literature from Davidson College and his theological training through Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA), he began pastoral counseling in 1999 and received his initial clinical training and supervision as a chaplain in the Air Force as well as through Care and Counseling, an American Association of Pastoral Counselors approved training center in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a Board Certified Chaplain on staff at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Louisville and also serves as Protestant Chaplain to the Kentucky Air National Guard with several deployments to Southwest Asia and other parts of the world. Dr. Ehrman additionally serves as Assistant Dean of Students at Bellarmine University where he responds to a wide range of student issues and shares responsibility for Disability Support and Career Services. He continues to teach courses in German literature in addition to interdisciplinary courses including "Death and Dying" and "Addiction in the US." He specializes in responding to persons with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, addictions, relational/marital difficulties, bereavement, chronic illness and disability including ADHD, anger issues, and spiritual concerns. He also guides persons through lifecycle transitions with attention to changing roles together with issues of career and vocation. He is married to Joanne, and they have one son, Micah. They enjoy biking, hiking, and trips to the beach.
